New structures within the city limits will fall under revised building codes starting in early 2022. The Lampasas City Council approved a second reading Monday night of an ordinance to adopt the new rules. Updated building codes will affect both commercial and residential structures.

County Commissioners Court talks possible precinct redistricting

The latest U.S. Census numbers show Lampasas County had more than a 10% increase in population, from 19,677 residents in 2010 to 21,627 in 2020 — a gain of almost 2,000 people. Enter redistricting.

FOOD PANTRY St. Mary Catholic Church will hold its monthly drive-through food pantry on Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All in need are welcome. Come to the church parking lot at 701 N. Key in Lampasas, and volunteers will load up the vehicle with groceries.

Lometa ISD to host Veterans Day program

The public is invited to the Lometa Independent School District’s Veterans Day ceremony Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the school’s new gymnasium. Students will offer a musical tribute. The keynote speaker will be former county commissioner Lowell Ivey.
