Even though it was a short meeting, a few critical decisions were made by the Lometa City Council at the last regular session of 2021. A major point of discussion was dumping procedures currently in place, and how to approach the future of the city trash disposal.

Parents and Hanna Springs Elementary School staff are hosting the Peppermint Village Gift Shop this week to teach students about holiday giving and self-budgeting. The gift shop has been open to students on campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through today.

The 73 rd annual Community Christmas Cantata will be held Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Lampasas. The performance will take place at 5 p.m. in the chapel, and doors open at 4 p.m. This year’s cantata is directed by Mary Tittle, the interim music director at First United Methodist.

Browning Garden Club schedules dessert potluck

The Browning Community Garden Club will hold its next meeting Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. in the training building behind the Kempner Volunteer Fire Department, 315 Pecan St., off U.S. Highway 190 in Kempner. The program will include winter garden information, a craft project and a dessert potluck.
