Local churches to hold Christmas Eve service

Several Lampasas church will hold special services for Christmas Eve. Two that contacted the Dispatch Record are listed below. School Creek Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. The church is located 15 miles northeast of Lampasas on County Road 3420 off Farm-to-Market 2527.

Area entities end the year with sales tax gains

This has proven to be a year of solid economic growth for cities across the area, when measured by local sales activity. All entities in Lampasas County and several surrounding counties will close out 2021 with annual sales tax gains – most with double-digit gains over last year.

Third Street renovation to start in January

The Third Street repaving project is set to begin the first week of January, city officials said. In a workshop last week, City Manager Finley de-Graffenried told the Lampasas City Council the project is set to begin Jan. 3.

Lampasas County battles adult sexual assault

Lampasas County soon will be part of a five-county support team aimed at tackling adult sexual assault. The Lampasas County Commissioners last week authorized County Judge Randy Hoyer to sign an interlocal agreement to coordinate an adult sexual response team.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES Lampasas municipal offices and the public library will be closed Thursday through Saturday for the Christmas holidays. Trash pickup will remain on schedule, according to the city. Lampasas County offices will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 27 so employees can enjoy the holidays.

Aspiring Eagle Scout builds drop boxes for retired flags

Lampasas Boy Scout Troop 200 member Ian Johnson has installed flag drop-off boxes at the Lampasas Fire Department and by the Veterans Memorial at Oak Hill Cemetery as part of his Eagle Scout project. Johnson is a resident of Lampasas and attends a private school in Marble Falls.
