Smith Cemetery Association holds Wreaths Across America event

Members of the Smith Cemetery Association in rural Lampasas partnered with Wreaths Across America to lay wreaths on veterans’ graves in Smith Cemetery at School Creek. This marks the third year the association has participated in the program.

Around mid-afternoon Monday, three separate grass fires erupted on the side of the roadway along North U.S. Highway 281 near County Road 3500.

Copperas Cove to host Coffee with a Cop Jan. 14

On Jan. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., officers from the Copperas Cove Police Department will be at Whataburger, 3006 East Business Highway 190, for a Coffee with a Cop event.  According to a news release, the fast food chain will supply free coffee and cinnamon rolls.
