Fiery collision: Two-vehicle crash injures one

A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning resulted in a fire and sent one man to the hospital for medical treatment. The collision occurred on the Lampasas County side of the Copperas Cove city limits at the corner of U.S. Highway 190 and Big Divide Road. Shortly before 10 a.m.

Last Saturday’s wreck caused by drunk driving

A car that went airborne over the weekend resulted from teenage drunk driving, law enforcement officials said. Shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on East U.S. Highway 190 near County Road 1563.

Although Lampasas was under a winter storm watch Wednesday and Thursday, with low temperatures that plunged into the teens, the freezing weather is expected to be replaced with more moderate conditions during the daytime after this weekend.

County judge reappointed to transit board

Lampasas County Judge Randy Hoyer was reappointed to the Hill Country Transit District Board for another term. The district is an association of nine Central Texas communities that pool resources to provide low-cost transportation services, including The HOP bus system.
