Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Joshua Damon Sanchez of Lampasas entered a plea of true and was found true of cruelty to non-livestock animal: kill/ poison/cause serious bodily injury.

Man faces child rape charge

A 24-year-old Lampasas man was arrested Monday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, after he entered a plea agreement on similar charges in January. Zachary Austin Kelley turned himself in to the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office Monday.

Kempner's first city manager submits resignation

City Manager David C. Williams II submitted his resignation Tuesday before the Kempner City Council regular meeting. The council approved his resignation with a 4 to 1 vote after executive session, with Place 2 Thomas Combs voted in opposition.
