Kempner council renames City Hall, votes to keep same tax rate

Kempner City Council renamed City Hall and approved a city tax rate on Tuesday night. The council OK’d the naming of City Hall as the Isenhour-Clark Municipal Building after Jack Clark and Gene Isenhour.

ROAD CLOSURE Precinct 3 Commissioner Lewis Bridges has announced that County Road 2200 between CR 2010 and CR 2234 will be shut down so maintenance can be performed Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. throughout the day. Detours can be taken through CR 2033 or 2010, and then back to CR 2001 (Old Lometa Road).

Classic vehicles on display at Storm’s

Pam and Mike Nichols were among the throngs of entrants at the 14th annual Classics at the Classic Car Show. Their 1970 Mustang was one of 66 vehicles that could be viewed last Saturday. 

New urgent care facility opens

Sulphur Creek Urgent Care will hold a grand-opening ceremony Sept. 19. The event is from noon to 1 p.m. at 306 W. 10th St. Appetizers and beverages will be available, and those on hand can tour the clinic, owner and lead nurse practitioner Michele Kent said.

School library offers two new clubs for students

The Lampasas High School library has organized clubs for book-loving and writing-loving students. The book club meets the second or third Wednesday of each month during the academic period, and the creative writing club meets the last Wednesday of the month.

Kickoff event set for Lampasas 4-H

Lampasas 4-H will hold a membership kickoff event tonight at 6 p.m. at the Lampasas County Show Barn, 283 North U.S. Highway 183. Youth interested in getting involved in 4-H are invited to come and learn more about the program.
