Lampasas Area Republican Women to host candidate forum

Members of the Lampasas Area Republican Women are set to host a candidate forum Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. The event will take place in the Wesley Fellowship Hall, First United Methodist Church at 2 Alexander Dr. in Lampasas. The meeting is open to the public.

County enters agreement for another waste collection

Lampasas County will host another household hazardous waste event – its second in two years. During a regular meeting on Sept. 12, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement “for pass-through funding services” with Central Texas Council of Governments, or CTCOG.

Lometa City Council approves new budget

The Lometa City Council met Sept. 26 to hold the state-required public hearing before approving the Fiscal Year 2023 budget and tax rate. Over the summer, Lometa held numerous budget workshops to trim the proposed expenditures — nearly $130,000 in total.

LAMPASAS FALL FEST The Courtyard Square Association will hold its Lampasas Fall Fest on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Lampasas. Plants, garden art and speakers will be part of the day’s offerings.
