Gillum Cemetery A semi-annual meeting of the Gillum Cemetery Association will be held Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. After clean-up work in the cemetery, a business meeting will follow at 11 a.m. at the Oakalla Community Center.

Lometa ISD recognizes its elementary honor students

Lometa Principal Amanda Morris has released the list of elementary honor students for the first six weeks of the 2022-2023 school year. Also recognized are students with perfect attendance. The list of secondary honor students will appear in an upcoming edition.

Boots and Blazers event set for Saturday

Dinner will be served at Campbell Park for the Boots and Blazers fundraiser, hosted by the Lampasas Association for the Arts. Afterward, country music star Rick Trevino will entertain.

Chalk artist coming to Lampasas for special program

Lampasas Baptist Church will host chalk artist and Bible teacher Randy Davis Oct. 23 at its 11 a.m. service. He is the founder of Drawing Closer Ministries, headquartered in Branson, Missouri. Davis has a unique visual method of conveying biblical principles.

U.S. 190 project begins near Lometa

On Monday, TxDOT’s contractor will begin the first phase of a project that includes installation of a passing lane and safety improvements on U.S. 190 from the San Saba County line to U.S. 183 outside Lometa.
