The report from the May 3 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 442, compared to 337 last sale and 850 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $3-$5 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady.

Bradley sentenced in manslaughter case

A Killeen man was sentenced to six years of imprisonment for the vehicular manslaughter of a Copperas Cove man in a crash just north of Lometa. On April 28, Stephen Jacob Bradley pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County.

Election Day arrives Saturday

Voters in several jurisdictions across Lampasas County will have an opportunity Saturday to participate in municipal and school district elections. Those registered to vote in the city of Lampasas may select from two candidates running for mayor.

Texas Legislature recognizes city’s 150th birthday

For its 150th birthday, the city of Lampasas was honored by the Texas House of Representatives. Legislators on Monday passed House Resolution 1313 to celebrate Lampasas’ sesquicentennial. Civic leaders and Lampasas citizens were present at the Capitol for the special occasion.
