Ronald Oney displays a fanged specimen during Saturday’s Lometa Diamondback Jubilee. More than 700 snakes weighing a total of 986 pounds were rounded up for the event. Of the total, 542 rattlers were captured outside of the county, and 168 came from Lampasas County.

ROAD CLOSUREWest Fourth Street will be closed from Key Avenue to Broad Street on Monday and Tuesday this week from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for utility line installation. First Baptist preschool traffic should ingress and egress the property using South Broad Street or West Third, city officials said.
