TXDOT MEETINGS CANCELED Texas Department of Transportation open houses planned this week in Lampasas and Evant were canceled on Monday. The meetings were intended to provide an update on plans to widen U.S. Highway 281 from Lampasas to Evant.

City heads to stage 3 water restrictions

As of this morning, the city of Lampasas is now under stage 3 water restrictions due to continued drought conditions.  The decision comes after Kempner Water Supply Corporation shifted into stage 4 restrictions on Monday.

This afternoon, the Texas Department of Transportation announced its open house scheduled for tomorrow at New Covenant Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be postponed until another date.  The event was supposed to provide updated plans regarding the U.S.

The July 20 market report from Mills County Commission Co. follows. Total receipts: 2,789. Previous week: 2,683. Trends: Light kids $10 lower. Slaughter kids $5 lower; slaughter nannies $5-$10 lower; replacement nannies steady.

City sees sales tax drop in July

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s office has mailed sales tax rebates for July to the cities, counties and special-purpose districts that levy a local tax. Those payments were approximately 7% more than entities across the state received in July 2022.

The report from the July 19 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 431, compared to 708 last sale and 688 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, stockers were $5-$10 higher; feeder steers and heifers steady to $3 higher.
