Voters in the Lampasas Independent School District may begin casting their ballots on Monday in the bond election. Three propositions totaling $139.63 million are proposed.Early voting takes place at the Elections Office, 407 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas.

Former Lampasas mayor Jerry Grayson, who also served more than two decades as a city councilman, was recognized for his dedication to the city at Monday’s Lampasas City Council meeting.Grayson died March 28, 2026. In his professional career, Grayson worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Commissioners oppose Oncor/LCRA transmission line

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court cemented its stand against the Bell County East to Big Hill 765-kilovolt transmission project developed by Oncor and the Lower Colorado River Authority Transmission Services Corp.

Smoke shop, housing development spur discussion at City Council meeting

At Monday’s meeting of the Lampasas City Council, two potential business developments stirred up a lot of questions.The council eventually approved a special-use permit to allow for a smoke shop in an area zoned for retail at 2200 South U.S. Highway 281.
