Man arrested on felony assault charge

Authorities have arrested a Lampasas County man on a felony family assault charge and said he is “more than likely” an undocumented immigrant. Luis Camey-Mayen, 34, was arrested Aug. 5 on a charge of aggravated assault of a family or household member with a weapon.

Teen receives minor injuries in crash with truck

A 16-year-old Lampasas resident suffered minor injuries after an 18-wheeler collided with the juvenile’s vehicle at the intersection of South Key Avenue and E.E. Ohnmeiss Drive on Tuesday evening.

‘Hottest July on record’

More active wildfires were reported this week with temperatures still in the triple digits. In addition, Texas Forest Service officials have called last month the “hottest July on record” for many areas in Texas. The Texas Forest Service reported an active, 110-acre fire in north Lampasas County.

Lampasas enters Stage 4 drought response

The city of Lampasas has moved to Stage 4 Drought Response – Critical Water Shortage Conditions as of Tuesday.

City Council delays annexation decision

Lampasas City Council took no action Monday on the annexation of 12 acres to the south of the city limits. Council members said they needed more time to consider the voluntary annexation request for the 12.74 acres owned by Ron Kuker.

Local resident killed in Saturday collision

A Lampasas man lost his life Saturday in a twovehicle collision in Coryell County. Texas DPS authorities said 48-year-old Bernard Christian Uhler II died on the scene of a wreck on Farm to Market Road 116 about 3.4 miles south of Copperas Cove. DPS Sgt.
