The report from the Nov. 15 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 454, compared to 983 last sale and 508 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, stocker steers were $10-- $15 higher; feeder steers $3-$5 lower; heifers $7-$10 higher.

LHS students to begin tiny home construction

Lampasas High School students in the construction technology program are set to begin building the first of two tiny home projects this month. LHS has received some trusses and concrete blocks to begin laying the foundations for the tiny homes.

Night sky-friendly business recognized

Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky has recognized Cattles Pharmacy for its part in maintaining dark skies in the city. The business operates its outside lights on a timer that runs them from dusk to dawn.

Lometa VFD celebrates new substation

Having a dream is often the first step toward accomplishing a major goal. For the Lometa Volunteer Fire Department, one of its biggest dreams has become reality. A second fire station, located at 201 E. Olive, opened for service Sunday with a ribboncutting ceremony and a barbecue fundraiser.
