Slowdown continues with sales tax receipts

The sales tax allocations made in February to area cities and counties reflected a slowing economy for Central Texas. More than half the entities tracked by the Dispatch Record had decreases this month compared to the rebates they earned in February 2023.

Texas students who helped clean and beautify their communities can apply for a scholarship contest that will award a total of $10,000. The annual “Don’t Mess with Texas” Scholarship Contest is accepting applications for the 2024 school year.

Poultry series scheduled for March, April
