Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met last week for its regular monthly meeting, with the agenda covering several procedural items for the district. As the school year comes to an end, board members approved items that will go into effect for 2024-2025.

A second-story water fountain turned geyser flooded the Lampasas County Office Building over the weekend, affecting several offices in the annex.According to County Judge Hoyer, the water fountain started to malfunction around mid-morning on Saturday, based on video footage.

A longtime Lampasas firefighter officially took the chief’s seat last week.Joe Adams, a 40-year firefighter, was promoted to Lampasas fire chief to take the position vacated by Jeff Smith on Jan. 19.
