Indian Artifact Show coming Sept. 28

Lampasas residents will have the chance next month to see historic arrowheads and more on display at the Indian Artifact & Mineral and Gem Show.The annual event sponsored by Vision Lampasas will take place at the old Lampasas Middle School cafeteria, 107 N.Main St., on Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the hearings.Defendant John Anthony Carvajal of San Antonio entered a plea of true to a charge of sexual assault and was given 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation.

In a short meeting Monday, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement with Travis County and authorized the purchase of a new HVAC unit for one of the county’s office buildings.

Nighttime work on U.S. Highway 190

The Texas Department of Transportation started resurfacing the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and State Loop 257 in the city of Lampasas on Monday. The project is supposed to be completed by the end of this week.

City Council approves increase to water, wastewater rates

At Monday’s Lampasas City Council meeting, members decided to approve a $5 increase to the monthly base rate for both the water and wastewater services within the city.Prior to approval of the increase, the monthly wastewater rate was $24 for residential and apartment properties.
