Greenwood reflects on time as county attorney in Lampasas

John Greenwood’s 10-year tenure as Lampasas County attorney is coming to an end this month.Greenwood has served Lampasas County for 23 years, including 13 years as the assistant county attorney before assuming the role as district and county attorney. His term will conclude at the end of 2024.

Local sales tax rebates show modest gains for 2024

After a shaky first quarter, the city of Lampasas has posted better economic results for the remainder of the year and will close out December with a small gain over 2023.Lampasas ends 2024 with cumulative sales tax rebates of $2.97 million – up 2% from the $2.

The annual Lometa Hometown Christmas parade and holiday festivities will take place Saturday evening. The events are sponsored by SAS Towing and Sammy’s Rockin’ K Café.The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the other activities set for Lometa City Hall at 7 p.m.
At left, families spend time making s’mores while enjoying the Christmas on the Creek holiday lights along Sulphur Creek. Guests had the opportunity to partake of hot chocolate, cotton candy and s’mores as they walked the pathway of lights and visited Santa’s Christmas village.

Christmas is a time to come together, and the celebration in Lampasas this past Saturday in the park along Sulphur Creek captured everything special about the season. From 5-8 p.m., families got together to enjoy an evening of festive fun.
