Kempner City Council prepares for new firearms ordinance

In a rather short regular meeting, Kempner City Council members on Tuesday approved a resolution to create a committee to review the city’s proposed firearms ordinance.Also, City Manager Rebecca Ramos provided an update on road improvement projects.

Details unfold on felony sexual assault charges

Forty-year-old Raven Lee Dunbar of Killeen and 20-year-old Waylon Bredt of Kempner were arrested Feb. 14 on charges related to child pornography and sexual assault of a child. New details about the arrests show how law enforcement officials were able to uncover the alleged crimes.

Utility work continues on east side of town

Texas State Utilities, performing maintenance on behalf of Atmos Energy, has moved its trucks to South Main Street near East Sixth Street as of Wednesday. Since January, the utility contractor has been in Lampasas doing routine maintenance on natural gas pipelines.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened several times in February, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the hearings.On Feb. 21, the court took the following action.
