LCAD board says yes to 78% budget increase for 2026

The Lampasas Central Appraisal District Board of Directors approved Chief Appraiser Juan Saucedo’s proposed $1.589 million budget for 2026 with minimal pushback, greenlighting a $600,000 increase from this year’s budget.Action came during Thursday’s regular LCAD board meeting.

Railroad Crossing Closed
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway will close the railroad crossing at FM 2313 in Kempner on Wednesday for repairs. Work will begin at 7 a.m., and the crossing will reopen at approximately 5 p.m. that day after work is completed.

Chief Appraiser Juan Saucedo was met with mixed reactions when he presented the Lampasas Central Appraisal District’s proposed 2026 budget at Tuesday’s Commissioners Court and Kempner City Council meetings. The budget reflects a 78% increase for LCAD.
