Lampasas County residents and visitors enjoyed floats as the 52nd annual Spring Ho Grand Parade took to the streets on Saturday.The Lampasas Middle School cheer team secured grand champion honors for their parade efforts.

Youth compete in Cardboard Regatta boat races

Lampasas VFW will host cannon next week at its post

Lampasas VFW Post No. 8539 will host the Sons of Confederate Veterans as they unveil a new artillery piece, aptly named “The Judge.”Saltworks Camp No. 2353 is scheduled to convene at the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday at 3 p.m. for a brief business meeting and program.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened July 9 to start the July term.Sgt. Investigator Larry Wilson of the Lampasas Police Department presented information that resulted in indictments against: Bronson Joe Rogers, on a charge of possession of a controlled substancemethamphetamine on June 4.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Commissioners Court OKs LCAD budget for 2026

After saying “no” to proposed budget increases by the Lampasas Central Appraisal District the last two years, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court agreed to a 78% hike in the district’s budget for 2026.Commissioners approved the LCAD budget in Monday’s regular meeting by a 4-1 vote.

Rainwater runoff covers roadway in town

Lampasas resident Will Sneed took this photo Sunday morning while standing in the 1000 block of South Willis facing north toward the city tennis courts. Water was knee deep and covered the roadway as well as the tennis facility.
