Multiple departments fight estimated 65- to 75-acre grass fire

Several area fire departments responded to the 7600 block of North U.S. Highway 183 on Tuesday to quench a grass fire.

Lampasas Fire Chief Jeff Smith estimated the fire — about eight miles northwest of Lampasas — burned a total of 65-75 acres. The scorched pastureland was on at least two ranches, Smith said.

No structures were damaged, the fire chief said.
