After an independent investigation concerning allegations made against Kempner Police Chief Heriberto Rodriguez, the city terminated his contract effective Sept. 4.
Rodriguez had an opportunity to appeal his pending firing during Tuesday’s Kempner City Council meeting but he opted not to attend, leading to his at-will termination.
Rodriguez had served as the city’s police chief since June 2021.
