FOOD PANTRY
St. Mary Catholic Church’s food pantry will hold one drive-through distribution in November – on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
Bags of non-perishable items plus bread, dairy, produce and meat are planned for distribution. All in need are welcome. Go to the church parking lot at 701 N. Key Ave.
BURN BAN IN EFFECT
A county burn ban is in effect. The ban prohibits many types of outdoor fires – including open campfires, plus brush fires that do not meet specific conditions. The ban applies outside incorporated city limits.
A violation of the burn ban is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a maximum fine of $500.
LOMETA FALL CLEAN-UP
Lometa residents may take trash and debris to the city yard, located at 411 E. San Saba St., for free disposal this Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 1:30-5 p.m. The citywide clean-up continues Saturday, with dropoff scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proof of residency is required.
Disposal is available only for household items.
Items that will not be accepted include commercial or industrial waste, explosives, ammunition, biomedical waste and radioactive waste, tires, used oil, petroleum products, paint, pesticide, herbicides, antifreeze, household cleaners, acids and other chemicals, batteries and small household electronics.
