Range tour to visit Bohning Ranch

The 2022 Lampasas & Mills County Range Tour will take place Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Bohning Ranch, 1223 County Road 2234 in Lampasas County. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the ranch gate. Cost is $20.

The report from the Sept. 14 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 379, compared to 425 last sale and 728 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers $3-$5 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady.

Badger Band to record in Disney Studios

Lampasas High School band students and their families are raising funds for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record at Disney studios. LHS band members have the option to travel to Orlando, Florida in late May to record with Disney music producers on a Disney theme park campus.

Stunning sunsets on display

Local resident Susan Zegub, whose photography has been featured often in the Dispatch Record’s Guide to Lampasas magazine, has published a book with some of her best shots of sunsets, cloud formations and wildflowers.

Burnet County to host Hay Production Workshop

The Central Texas Hay Production Workshop is set for Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Burnet County Extension Office, 607 N. Vandeveer in Burnet. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $15, which can be paid at the door. Two general continuing education units will be offered.

Annual car show sees high turnout

The 14th annual Classics at the Classic Car Show took place last weekend at the back parking lot of Storm’s Drive-In. Show organizers said the event had its best turnout since moving to the site several years ago.
