NEW YORK AIR NATIONAL GUARD Angi (Carroll) Daiuto, a 2001 graduate of Marble Falls High School, was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the New York Air National Guard during a ceremony at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in Syracuse, New York on Sept. 10.

The Foundation Room at the Lampasas Public Library mirrored the NASA science lab Tuesday morning, as close to a dozen homeschool students – all girls – built mini robots using LEGO Education BricQ Motion Prime sets.

Donations sought to help local family dealing with hefty medical expenses

Fundraisers have been held recently for 36-yearold Dale Hull and his family. Hull, a lifelong resident of the Kempner/Copperas Cove area, is a Lampasas High School graduate who has been battling stage 4 colon cancer. He is a project manager for RNC Construction in Copperas Cove.

L-M Garden Club receives update on civic matters

Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club had its first meeting of the new club year on Sept. 19 at the garden club building. The meeting was called to order by President Debbie Hicks. The prayer was given by Virginia Hamilton. About 15 members were present.

Students at the Lampasas Independent School District elementary campuses not only greet their friends but also their beloved dogs when they come to school each day. Honey, a 3-year-old yellow lab, is the Kline Whitis Elementary School dog.

BBQ for Books set for Oct. 17

The Lampasas Public Library will host its annual BBQ for Books fundraiser on Oct. 17. “Tickets are on sale right now,” said Emily Stone, assistant library director. Tickets are $12 per plate and must be purchased in advance at the library or Hodges & Sargent Pharmacy at 201 S. Key Ave.
