The Badger Band will take part in a UIL marching competition Saturday at 12:35 p.m. at Burnet High School.
Seven schools will perform that day. Bands are rated in a division 1-5 after they perform.
LHS Band Director Bonnie Oreka explained: 1st division is a superior rating, 2nd excellent, 3rd good, 4th fair, and 5th poor.
The band has been practicing since August, and “we are slowly adding more and more to the show,” Oreka said. “It has been difficult this year because of students being out, but we’re very blessed to have a great group of kids.”
The theme for the Badger Band’s performances this fall is “Glory Days.”
Drum majors are Kaitlyn Keener and Megan Caddies.
The LHS group is building on the success of last year, when 31 members qualified for region band, and the Illusion Color Guard placed in the top 10 at Winter Guard International regionals.
The band extended thanks to its sponsors for 2020-2021.
