Aubrey Leonard Rodgers Jr., 90, died on July 8, 2025 at Lampasas Assisted Living in Lampasas.
A memorial service will be held at Vinyard Funeral Home in Floresville at 3 p.m. July 19. Visitation will be at Vinyard Funeral Home at the same time. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Aubrey was born on Oct. 3, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Aubrey Leonard Rodgers Sr. and Francis Nola Griffey Rodgers.
Aubrey -- “Al” -- grew up in Texas in various towns as the family relocated with his father’s career. He graduated from Northside High School in San Antonio in 1952.
After high school, he had a very successful career with IBM working in various positions. Over the course of his employment he was in charge of many major projects, one of which was increasing the speed of the internet. He was promoted to vice president at the Austin branch and retired after a long career.
Aubrey married Joan in 1964 in San Antonio. They were married for 53 years.
He enjoyed shooting sports, hunting and boating, and was a member of the National Rifle Association as well as the Texas State Rifle Association.
Aubrey was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Sikora, and his wife, Joan Robertson Rodgers.
He is survived by his daughter, Alanna Fell (David) of Junction; sons Aubrey Leonard Rodgers III (Connie) of Fredericksburg, and Vincent Robertson Rodgers (Jennifer) of Lampasas; six grandchildren, Michael and Rebekah Fell, Logan and Jordan Rodgers, and Tristan and Audrey Rodgers; and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
