Robert Allen Carroll, 73, of Lampasas died at his home on Sept. 11, 2024.
Born on Feb. 13, 1951, in Waco to Vernon and Mary Anne Carroll, Robert grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1969.
A man of many talents, Robert worked as a farmer, rancher, welder, mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He also loved to cook and was proud to serve the community, retiring after 25 years with the TxDOT Maintenance Department.
On June 15, 1973, Robert married the love of his life, Darlene Cox. They shared 40 years of marriage until her death in 2015. They raised three children: Tammy Carroll Martin and husband Lee, Bobby Gene Carroll and wife Liz, and Vicky Peters and husband Jerome.
Robert was a man of quiet faith. His commitment to the Lord and his family left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His life of faithfulness, humility and service will be remembered by those who crossed his path.
He is survived by his three children and 11 grandchildren: Allison, Katelyn, Vivien, Lauren, Gwendolyn, Madeline, and Nathan Martin; Jemma and McKenna Carroll; and Jeremiah and Joshua Peters. He also is survived by his siblings Verne Anne Hurst, David Carroll, Paul Carroll and Mary Earnest, as well as numerous cousins extended family members.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; uncle June Carroll; niece, Kyla Earnest; nephew, Royce Brown; and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation was held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Sept. 16.
Funeral services will take place at Grace Fellowship Church on Sept. 17 at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Kempner Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Lampasas County Livestock Association.
