Tickets on sale for Reverse Raffle event

The Lampasas County Livestock Association will hold its annual Reverse Raffle Oct. 23 at the Lampasas County Show Barn, 283 North U.S. Highway 183 in Lampasas. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the ribeye steak meal to be served at 5:30.

Bowling tournament postponed

The annual Putters & Gutters Bowling Tournament, which benefits AdventHealth Rollins Brook, is postponed. The event was scheduled for Sept. 26. The decision was made due to the current number of active COVID-19 cases and positivity rates in the community, officials said.

Walk Across Texas program celebrates its 25th year

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Walk Across Texas! initiative has developed a new challenge to help celebrate the program’s 25-year anniversary. Anyone can join by registering to walk with a team of friends, family members, colleagues or classmates.

Trail ride fundraiser set to support Lometa Senior Center

The Bend or Bust 2021 Trail Ride is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. Riders will leave the Lometa Regional Park Bar 3 Arena and head to the Colorado River at Bend. This benefit event will help support the Lometa Senior Center.

The extreme heat across much of the country has turned many lawns brown. Damaged lawns may be thin, contain dead patches or are overrun with weeds. Fall is a good time to improve the health and appearance of a weather-worn lawn. Start the process by evaluating the damage.

Classic car show planned at Storm’s

Storm’s Drive-In will host a free Classics at the Classic car show on Saturday for classic vehicles from before 1990. The show, which has no age or residency requirement, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will register upon arrival.
