Boil water notice issued

Updates: As of 4:15 p.m., KWSC officials stated they have received the 10-inch piece of concrete pipe required for the repair, and repair work will soon be underway. Once welding is complete, the lines will be repressurized. Customers are expected to have water later tonight, officials said.

LHS student arrested for alleged firearm threats

A Lampasas High School student was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he made a firearm-related threat.  After a Lampasas Police Department investigation, Noah William Randall, 17, was arrested at LHS on a charge of threat/exhibiting/use of a firearm at a school – a Class A misdemeanor.

Rain expected today, tonight and tomorrow

Rain is expected today, tonight and tomorrow, National Weather Service officials said.  NWS meteorologists issued a hazardous weather outlook at 3:21 a.m. Friday morning, noting stormy conditions are expected today for Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, Hamilton and surrounding counties.

Badgers hitting the road for the first time this season

A Thursday game on the road, starting at 7 p.m., and played on a turf field are all new challenges the 2023 Lampasas Badger football team has not faced – until this week. At 3-0, the Badgers have had their best start to a season since 2020.

High heat Friday may be quelched by weekend storms

While Friday’s temperature is expected to be hot, hot, hot, storms moving west across Central Texas this weekend may offer Lampasas County some reprieve.  At 4:25 a.m. this morning, the National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning effective until 9 p.m.

Storms possible Monday

After a brief rainfall over the weekend for the Lampasas County area, the National Weather Service is predicting more stormy weather today. In a hazardous weather outlook issued at 2:12 a.m. Monday, meteorologists are predicting storm activity for Lampasas, Coryell, Bell and surrounding counties.
