In the district homeopener, the Lady Badger softball team looked to rebound from a loss to Salado as they took on the Jarrell Lady Cougars last Friday night.In what turned into a very high-scoring affair, Lampasas lost 14-13, coming one run short in a final-inning comeback effort.

Four Badgers headed to state powerlifting meet

The Lampasas boys team competed at the regional powerlifting meet last Saturday. Overall, 16 different lifters competed, and four emerged as state qualifiers with seven total medalists.As a team, the Badgers finished fourth in the region.

Last Thursday, Taylor was the site of the second official track meet of the season for both the Badgers and Lady Badgers.Overall, the varsity boys’ team won the meet with 149 points.

Baseball team has success at Franklin tournament; district play next

The Badger baseball team picked up two wins in four games last weekend at the Franklin tournament.Lampasas took a 5-4 win over Danbury and a 6-2 win over Cuero during the course of the weekend. The Badgers also played to a 5-5 tie with Pasadena FBCA and lost to Cameron Yoe 4-0.

Lampasas soccer loses regular-season finale on penalty kicks

In the regular-season soccer finale for the Badgers, the team played host to Stephenville. The 1-1 draw after 80 minutes saw the game go to penalty kicks where Lampasas came up short, losing 5-3 on the kicks.Parker Boykin was the Badgers’ goal scorer in the game.

Golf teams play in Glen Rose tournament

The Lampasas golf teams competed in a tournament in Glen Rose last week, and each had solid showings.The boys’ team finished in a tie for ninth place among the 26 teams. Lampasas had a two-day score of 323301=624.Individually, the Badgers were led by James Clarkston who shot 73-78=151.
