Lampasas tennis team finishes first at Marble Falls tournament

The Lampasas varsity tennis team competed at a tournament in Marble Falls right before spring break and emerged as the firstplace team, with 10 of the 16 players earning a medal.Overall, 10 teams played in the tournament. Five of the seven teams from the Badgers’ district competed as well.

Hornet tennis team competes again in Waco

The Lometa tennis team earned a couple of first-place finishes at a tournament last Wednesday played at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.Ivan Oliver Douwsma won first place in boys’ singles.

Softball team splits two district games this week

Lampasas fishing team nears end of its season

The Lampasas Fishing Team is a self-funded club that provides an opportunity for students to compete in fishing tournaments around the state.Founder of the club is Lesley Sanchez, who said she started the club originally for her son Rush Greer, who has loved fishing since he was in the fifth grade.

Assistant football coach takes new head job; volleyball coach resigns

A couple of Lampasas High School coaches won’t be back with the Badgers next season.Football’s assistant head coach Ty Kuhn is taking the head coaching job at Academy, and head volleyball coach Christy Wiley has submitted her resignation that will be effective at the end of the school year.

Badgers dominate Taylor in district opener

The Badger baseball team is off to one of its better starts in several years. The team put an exclamation point on that start Tuesday afternoon with a run-rule victory over Taylor to open district play.A walk-off single by Timber Gholson capped an 11-1 win for the Badgers over the Ducks.
