Badger finishes fourth at state powerlifting meet

Two Badger lifters went to Abilene Saturday to participate in the State Powerlifting Meet. Westen Reid lifted in the 198-pound weight class, where he placed fourth in the state.

Both track teams finish in top four at Burnet Relays

The Lady Badgers took third, and the Badgers finished fourth in the team standings at the Burnet Relays on Thursday. VARSITY GIRLS’ RESULTS Nyla Long finished third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:16.61. In the girls’ 4x100 meter relay, the Lady Badgers finished fifth with a time of 53.

Tennis team plays in final tournament before district

The Lampasas tennis team traveled to Killeen for the last tournament of the spring season before the district tournament this week. Kailr Clements/ Abby Valdez finished in third place, going 3-1 on the day. “Plenty of good tennis for the No. 1 seed at district,” head coach Kenneth Peiser said.

Badgers back to .500 in district with win over Glen Rose

The Badgers showed fight and resilience in their win over the Glen Rose Tigers on Tuesday night. The victory gets Lampasas back to .500 at 2-2 in district play. The 10-4 win was highlighted by a couple of big innings – a three-run first and a four-run fifth that made the difference in the contest.

Lady Badgers take close win over Gatesville

The Lady Badgers are off to a good start in district play, as they beat the Gatesville Lady Hornets 7-6 on the road. Harley Wakeman started in the circle Tuesday for the Lady Badgers. She threw a solid six innings and recorded three strikeouts, allowing only four hits and walking two batters.

Golf course greens to be aerated

The greens at Hancock Park Golf Course are going to be aerated early next month, causing the course to be closed to the public on April 4 and April 5. In addition to the aeration, the greens will also be sanded during this two-day period.

Badger youth football camp awaits

Youth football camp this summer will be held the last week of school, from Monday through Wednesday at Badger Field. The camp will be for students in first through fifth grades. Cost is $35. SWAT conditioning also will kick off just after school on June 2 and run through July 21.
