Badgers’ season comes to an end after series loss to Iowa Park

The Badgers traveled to two different fields over two days for their three-game series against Iowa Park in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The series finished after a doubleheader Saturday, when Lampasas fell 12-8 in the final game.

Lady Badgers run into tough Argyle team in area playoffs

The Lady Badgers took on Argyle in the area-round of the playoffs last Friday night. The Lady Eagles, with state championship aspirations, beat the Lady Badgers 13-0 in five innings. Lampasas gave everything it had, but it was not enough against a team of Argyle’s caliber.

Middle school tennis competes at district

The Lampasas Middle School tennis team competed at district last week, and several players finished with top results. In seventh grade, Lorelai Kimbler and Wyatt Jones were the district champs in mixed doubles, while Emerich Hopkins and Jamie Brock took third place.

Lampasas ISD to offer physicals to athletes and marching band

This week and next week, physicals will be offered to all students who need one once this week and twice next week. Starting from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the field house and continuing next Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the middle school (BF Gym) and on Wednesday from 9 a.m.

Lady Badger soccer player named to all-state team

Lady Badger soccer player Bella Lindsey has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association allstate team. Lindsey, a sophomore, amassed 26 goals, including five hat tricks and 12 assists in the 2021-2022 season that saw Lampasas finish just outside of the playoffs.

Several Badger sports camps upcoming

The Badger athletics program has several camps coming up in different sports over the next few weeks. To start out, Lampasas will host a youth football camp for those in first through fifth grades. The camp will be May 16-18 from 4-6 p.m. each day at Badger Field. The cost is $35 per camper.

Riata Roundup Rodeo competitors take home prize money

The Riata Roundup Rodeo took place at the 580 Arena over the weekend, and several different events were held during the competition. The first competition was bareback riding, where the winner was Clayton Hibler with a score of 74. He won $544.26.

Badgers ready for bi-district matchup with Iowa Park

The Badgers will travel to play a best-of-three series this weekend against Iowa Park in the first round of the playoffs. The first game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Weatherford High School. Games two and three will be played in Stephenville on Saturday. Game two will start at 4 p.m.
