The Badger athletics program has several camps coming up in different sports over the next few weeks.
To start out, a baseball and softball camp will be offered from May 23-25 for first- through ninthgraders at the high school fields.
The camp will run each day from 9-10:30 a.m.

Tennis camp offered this summer

Two different youth tennis camps will be available this summer for young Badger tennis players.
The first camp will be from June 20-23, and the second will run from July 25-28. Those interested can attend either one or both.
Times will be from 8-9 a.m.

Kaeden Crawford signs to play college basketball at Eastern Oklahoma

A Lampasas High School senior will head to Oklahoma after graduation to continue his basketball career, playing at Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Kaeden Crawford came to Lampasas the summer before his junior year, and the 6’7” senior has had an impact on Badger basketball ever since.

Seniors to extend their cheer and dance careers

Two Lampasas High School seniors made commitments to their respective universities on Friday.
Sam Zmolik committed to cheer for Abilene Christian University, while April Smith committed to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in dance.

Longtime Lampasas resident throws out first pitch at youth baseball, softball opening day

The Lampasas County Youth League Association baseball teams are off and running in their seasons.
The league has teams that start at age 4-and-under T-ball and goes up through 14U baseball and 15U softball.

Middle school soccer teams continue their season
Hunter King
The Lampasas Middle School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams played Monday night, and each of them came away with good results.
The boys played Salado. The Badgers went down 1-0 about 16 minutes into the match, and the score stayed there until halftime.

Lady Hornet thrower headed to state track meet

The Lometa Hornets and Lady Hornets competed recently at the regional track meet, and two different throwers found their way onto the podium.
Copeland Brister placed third overall in the shotput, with a throw of 40’10”, and Sierra Tower threw the best discus in the whole region.

Lampasas native headed to high school rodeo finals

Katie Procter, a Lampasas High School senior, will travel to Abilene next month to compete in the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals.
The rodeo finals will run from June 5-11.

Physicals offered to athletes, marching band members

This next week, physicals will be available to all students who need them for participation in UIL activities.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lampasas Middle School Bozarth-Fowler Gym and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the same location, students can get a physical.
