Dove season seems off to a slow start this year

Dove season has been underway for a little over half a month now, and hunters have not seen much success, following the trend of recent years. “We just don’t have the numbers like we’ve had in the past,” Lampasas County Game Warden Shaun Bayless said.

Annual Hancock Park Membership Club Championship to take place Saturday

The yearly club championship between Hancock Park Golf Course members and San Saba River Golf Course members will tee off at 1 p.m. Saturday at the course in Lampasas. At this event, a team of members from Hancock Park competes with a team of members from San Saba River.

Both Lampasas cross country teams left the Liberty Hill meet last Saturday with secondplace finishes. Individually, the girls finished like this: Nyla Long in second place, Becca Nobles in fourth, Tate Brown in ninth, Hailey Palmer in 10th and Anna Burgess in 13th place.
