Badgers looking to finish non-district schedule at 4-1

The Badgers will host the Wimberley Texans in their final non-district game of the season. Coming off a dominant 44-13 win over Pflugerville Connally, the Badgers are riding a three-game winning streak. They will try to continue that momentum tonight.

Basketball showcase making its way to Lometa next week

The Harlem Legends will be in Lometa Oct. 1, as part of a large-scale fundraiser for the Lometa Lions Club and the Michael Douglas Youth Foundation. The Lometa Rattlers and the Harlem Legends will take on each other in a Globetrotter-style game starting at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Badgers sweep final non-district game

The Lady Badgers swept the Brownwood Lady Lions in their final non-district match of the volleyball season. The final score was 25-15, 26-24, 26-24. Stat leaders in the match were Madison Roedler with 11 kills, Breana Pelbath with 10 and Hannah Perry with two.

Freshman and junior varsity football teams remain undefeated

Both the freshman and junior varsity Badger football teams have moved to 4-0 after dominant wins over Pflugerville Connally last week. The freshmen won 39-6, and the JV team won 36-6.

Boys finish second in Salado meet, girls finish in top 10

The Lampasas varsity boys’ cross country team placed second out of 22 teams at the meet in Salado last week. The girls’ team came in eighth out of 20 teams, and Nyla Long finished ninth individually against 154 competitors. She ran a personal best, according to coach Macey Siegert.

Struggles on defense lead to loss for the Hornets

Lometa’s defensive woes continued Friday night, as Rochelle became the third team this season to score 60 points or more on the Hornets. Rochelle took the game 65-36. Despite the score, Lometa’s offense had an improved week, as personnel changes on the offensive line seemed to spark production.

A dominant first half leads to third win of the season

The Badgers blocked two punts in the first quarter of Friday’s contest against Pflugerville Connally. Dailan Fagan returned one for a touchdown, and the second led to a touchdown a couple of plays later. The Badgers used that momentum to close things out early in a 44-13 win over the Cougars.
