Lometa football ended its season on a high note Friday night, defeating Santa Anna 58-40. The win was the Hornets’ second in a row and gave them a third-place finish in district play. Seniors who participated in fall sports were honored prior to the start of the game.

Tough second half leads to loss for the Badgers

Turnovers and struggles in the second half allowed the Canyon Lake Hawks back into a game the Badgers dominated for large portions. The eventual 34-30 loss came when the Hawks scored the game winning touchdown with under a minute to go and the Badgers couldn’t answer.

Badgers to take on district-leader Canyon Lake

The 5-3 (4-0) Canyon Lake Hawks will come into Badger Field Friday night for a game against the 6-3 (3-1) Badgers looking to become district champs. Lampasas likely will be playing for second place with a win over the Hawks. Davenport sits at 3-1 in district.

Badger boys place third in golf tournament at Kingsland

The Lampasas boys’ golf team played in a tournament in Kingsland in late October where the Badgers finished third overall. In the individual standings, Peyton Spore placed fourth. He shot 78 on the day.

Lady Badgers’ season comes to end in bidistrict playoffs

The Lady Badgers played a tough, hard-fought postseason match against the Salado Lady Eagles. They came up just short, losing in four sets 19-25, 2725, 15-25, 13-25.

Subvarsity teams improve their records with wins over Marble Falls

The freshman Badgers improved to 7-2 last week with a 34-14 win over Marble Falls. Calum Mitchell connected on touchdown passes to Shawn Roberts and KJ Reed in the first half, according to coach Chance Evans. In the second half, Mitchell went back to Roberts with another score through the air.
