Badgers finish ninth in state golf tournament

The Badger golf team spent Monday and Tuesday competing at the Conference 4A State Golf Tournament at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. Over the two days, the team shot 317-323-640 to finish in ninth place. Lampasas finished higher than Marble Falls, Celina and Texarkana Pleasant Grove.

Basketball to play summer games in two different locations

After the conclusion of the three-week spring basketball league in which Lampasas hosted games at its gym, the Badgers are set to begin their summer league work. They will be playing in two different leagues. On Mondays in June, the group will travel to Hamilton for a couple of games each night.

Lampasas Soccer Association hosting briefing on fall travel season

Lampasas Soccer Association will host an information briefing on traveling soccer for interested players and parents. The fall season will begin in September. Prospective players are those born in 2014 or earlier. The briefing will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the parish hall (cafeteria) of St.

More than 200 riders gather in Lometa for ATLAS 4000

The 20th year of the ATLAS 4000 cycling tour took off from Stoneledge Winery in Lometa on Saturday morning. The group from The University of Texas is riding across the country to Alaska, with periodic stops to provide education and funding for cancer research.

Although it can be tempting to help, leave whitetail deer fawns alone

Baby deer are some of the cutest animals in the area. They are going to start appearing soon, as the fawns are born off last season’s mating. It is likely some residents will see fawns lying around in yards. They may even seem to be all on their own while the mother is out feeding.

Young Badgers get instruction on football basics at camp

Between 50 and 100 young Badgers gathered at Badger Field last week for the annual youth football camp. They worked on the fundamentals of tackling, rushing the passer, route running and catching, scoop and scoring a fumble, and much more.

Annual memorial golf tournament takes place this weekend

The 72nd Annual A.C. January Memorial Golf Tournament will be held from Saturday through Memorial Day at Hancock Park Golf Course.
