Lampasas Soccer Association hosting briefing on fall travel season

Lampasas Soccer Association will host an information briefing on traveling soccer for interested players and parents. The fall season will begin in September. Prospective players are those born in 2014 or earlier. The briefing will be May 30 at 6 p.m. in the parish hall (cafeteria) of St.

Lady Badgers place fifth in state golf tournament

The Lady Badger golf team played Monday and Tuesday in Kingsland at Legends Golf Course for the state tournament, and they finished fifth among the 12 teams that competed. The Lampasas girls shot 345-345-690 over the two-day event. That score put the team 13 shots behind thirdplace Davenport.

Badgers split final two games of spring basketball

The Badger basketball team played its final two spring league games on Monday against Salado and Gatesville. In the matchup with Salado, the Badgers played a tough back-and-forth game where they struggled shooting the ball for large stretches.

Badgers’ summer football camp, SWAT coming up soon

The Badgers will host a youth football camp May 15-17. Each day will run from 4-6 p.m. Students in first grade through fifth grade are eligible to register. Cost of the football camp is $35. Campers need a T-shirt, shorts, cleats or tennis shoes and sunscreen to participate.

Badger finishes sixth in state long jump competition

Late Thursday morning in Austin, Lampasas High School junior Asa White began competing in the long jump at the Conference 4A state track meet at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium.

ATLAS 4000 bike ride for cancer to take place this weekend

The annual ATLAS 4000 bicycle ride across the country begins this weekend. The unofficial send-off for the trek to Alaska will be Friday, starting at 8 a.m. on The University of Texas campus. On Saturday, the ride begins.

Badger baseball players recognized at banquet

The Badger baseball team held its end-of-season banquet last Wednesday, and players received their all-district honors as well as team awards. In total, five team awards given. Aden Rascoe received both the Batting Average Award and the MVP Award. Jonas Andersen was given the Best Pitcher Award.

Youth tennis camp to be offered this summer

Lampasas head tennis coach Kenneth Peiser will offer a four-day youth tennis camp at the high school courts. The camp will be available for all students interested in tennis, from incoming first-graders to those going into their freshman year of high school. Camp dates are May 22-25. From 8-9 a.m.
