Badger basketball plays in final summer tournament

The Badgers went 3-0 last weekend in their final basketball tournament of the summer. They played three different AAU teams from around the state. The first game was against PLU Hoops, and the Badgers won 59-50. Lampasas was down 29-27 at halftime but outscored PLU 32-21 in the second half.

Football players compete in another week of 7-on-7

The excruciatingly hot temperatures Tuesday afternoon did not stop the Badgers and the Gatesville Hornets from meeting on the football field for a third consecutive week of 7-on-7 action.

Badgers continue their winning ways in summer basketball

The Badgers played four more games of summer league basketball this week, and they finished 3-1. In Hamilton on Monday, Lampasas played both Goldthwaite and Comanche, losing 64-60 to Goldthwaite and beating Comanche 62-51. Against Comanche, sophomore Jax Pratus had his best game of the summer.

Golf camp and basketball camp coming up

Youth from first grade through middle school will be able to participate in a golf camp next month. Three different sessions will be offered July 1011 for different levels of golfers. The beginner session will be from 8-9:30 a.m. both days. The intermediate session will run from 10-11:30 a.m.

Summer basketball and football to continue this week

The Badgers and Lady Badgers are competing this week in continued summer action. The girls’ basketball team played Monday at home, but the results were unavailable by press time. The boys’ basketball team played on the road in Hamilton Monday.

Badger dads win second KM Two-Man Scramble

Last Friday, teams of two gathered at Hancock Park Golf Course for a two-man scramble tournament, hosted by Kenny Murray with Murray Events and Keller Williams Realty. Harvey Stinnett and Bradley Johnson took home first place after shooting 59 over the 18 holes.

Former Lady Badger returns home as new girls’ soccer coach

There is a new head of the girls’ soccer program in Lampasas, and she is homegrown. Liz Duran, a 2010 graduate of Lampasas High School, is back home, and she has secured the job she wanted in coaching the Lady Badgers in soccer.

Badgers finish 4-0 over two days of summer basketball

The Badgers continued their summer league action with games in Hamilton on Monday and games at home Tuesday. Lampasas went 4-0 over the course of the two days, starting with a 65-39 win over Comanche and a 78-65 win over Dublin.
