Volleyball camp allows middle school and high school players to improve

Approximately 50 middle school and freshman Lady Badgers were at the high school gym last week for volleyball camp Wednesday through Friday. They were led by head coach Christy Wiley and assistant coach Briana Acker through drills that included passing, setting, serving, spiking and more.

Young Lady Badgers participate in summer basketball camp

All told, approximately 60 young Lady Badgers, from incoming firstgraders through incoming freshmen, worked and improved their basketball skills for two hours on both Monday and Tuesday. The girls worked on the fundamentals of the game in dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and more.

Cheerleaders named to all-state team

A Lady Badger senior and a few of her teammates have been recognized as members of the All-State Cheer team. Bella Lindsey made the team, which includes 50 cheerleaders from across the state.

Different levels of golfers hone their skills at summer camp

Youth from first grade through eighth grade of varying skill levels were out at Hancock Park Golf Course last Monday and Tuesday for the annual summer golf camp hosted by Lampasas High School head golf coach Justin Schulze.

Results from the 5K and 1-mile races last Saturday

Offered in conjunction with the Toughest 10K run, Spring Ho participants also could compete in a 5K or 1-mile race last Saturday. Here are the results from each of those races. 5K OVERALL FINISHERS 1. Mikey McCart – 16:58.4 2. Troy Watson – 18:36 3. Royce Clary – 19:09.

Teams gather for annual cornhole and washer tournaments

The annual Spring Ho Cornhole and Washer tournaments took place during the middle of the day last Saturday. Many teams gathered for each event, and both awarded the top three finishers in the tournaments.
