Girls’ wrestling wins first district championship for Lampasas

The Lampasas wrestling team traveled to Georgetown on Wednesday for the district competition, and the girls returned with a first in school history: They were crowned district champions. The 119 points the girls’ team totaled was 13 more than the second-place squad earned.

Lady Badgers fight for road win over Marble Falls

The first time the Lady Mustangs and the Lady Badgers met on the basketball court this season, Lampasas scored only 20 points -- and was beaten by 18. When the two teams met again on Tuesday night, there was a very different result as the Lady Badgers emerged winners at 41-38.

Powerlifting teams compete at Llano

Both the Lampasas boys’ and girls’ powerlifting teams traveled to Llano last week for another competition. The boys’ team finished second as a group with 33 points, and they had several medal winners. Kris Ramirez finished first in the 114 class with a total of 580 pounds.

Tough shooting night results in Badgers’ loss to Burnet

When Lampasas and Burnet meet in any sport, the rivalry competition will always be tough. The stakes are even higher when the teams are sitting at first and second in district, as happened when the Bulldogs and Badgers played last Friday night. The scoring went back and forth the entire game.

Lady Badgers once again battle with state-ranked Burnet

The Lady Badgers have played the Burnet Lady Bulldogs twice this basketball season. Although both those games have resulted in Lampasas losses, the Lady Badgers have given a good showing of themselves.
