Lampasas athletes headed to area track meet after success at district

Last Thursday was the district track meet for the Badgers in Lago Vista.Nineteen different athletes or relay teams placed top four or better at the district meet for Lampasas, and that enables them to advance to the area competition. The area meet will be back in Lago Vista on Wednesday.

The Lometa Hornets have a golf program for the first time since the mid-2000s, and they have had a successful season. One male and one female golfer are advancing to the regional tournament later this month.

Mental mistakes lead to series-finale loss to Burnet

The Badger baseball team traveled to Burnet last Friday for the finale of a three-game baseball series this season. Mental mistakes and errors once again were the culprits for Lampasas in a 13-6 loss to the Bulldogs.JT Posten started the game on the mound for the Badgers.

Two Lampasas tennis players receive scholarship

Lampasas High School seniors Allison Valdez and Kaleb Roberts have been named the 2024 recipients of the Phillip King Tennis Scholarship. Head tennis coach Kenneth Peiser made the announcement on Tuesday.King is a 1963 graduate of LHS.

Boys’ golf team wins district tournament; on to regionals

The Badger golf team won the district championship in Kingsland this week by 17 strokes over Lago Vista, the second-place team.Lampasas shot 318-322-640. The Badgers also had three of the top five individual finishers in the tournament.

Softball team picks up win over Lago Vista to start second half of district

The second set of district games for the Lampasas softball team started Tuesday when the Lady Badgers hosted the Lady Vikings of Lago Vista.The Lady Badgers got off on the right foot with a 6-0 win on the back of a dominant pitching performance from Brooklyn Farmer and some timely hitting.
