Lampasas summer sports camps right around the corner

The plethora of sports summer camps kick off next month, and they will run into July.To start off, there will be a youth football camp from May 13-15. Activities will take place from 4-6 p.m. each day at Badger Field.The cost of the camp is $35.

Softball season comes to a close after playoff loss to Robinson

Through its two games last week, the Lady Badgers couldn’t keep pace with the bats of Waco Robinson in the bi-district round of the playoffs.In game one on Thursday, Lampasas played well and held a 5-3 lead at the end of the first two innings after an Aspen Wheeler two-run home run.

Middle school tennis teams compete at home tournament

Last Saturday, the seventhand eighth-grade tennis teams played in a tournament at home. The eighth-graders got to play at the high school they will be attending in a few months, while the seventhgraders competed at the middle school campus.“The players did a great job,” LMS coach Laina White said.

Badgers battle for nine innings in season-finale against Gateway

The Badger baseball team competed for nine innings against Gateway last Friday, but they lost 1-0 on a walkoff run by the Gators.Calvin Phelps was the star in this game for Lampasas. He tossed eight shutout innings, giving up only five hits and striking out 11 batters.

Badger baseball to miss playoffs after loss to Gateway

The Badger baseball team didn’t play the way they hoped to in the final home game of the season against the Gateway Gators.A 10-0 loss in six innings to Gateway and a Jarrell win over Marble Falls on Tuesday meant the Badgers no longer can make the playoffs.

Lampasas track season comes to an end at regional meet

The Lampasas track teams had to finish their season on Monday after the regional track meet was moved from Saturday due to bad weather that swept through most of Texas.The Badgers took two relay teams to the regional meet in Bullard.

Middle school girls’ soccer picks up win over Burnet

The Lampasas Middle School girls’ soccer team notched their second win in the second game of the season. They beat Burnet 4-1 this time, for a 7-2 score over the two games against the Lady Bulldogs.
