Girls’ middle school soccer picks up win over Burnet

The Lady Badger middle school soccer team started its season last Friday with a 3-1 win over the Burnet Lady Bulldogs.According to coach Nathaniel Brayton, the girls had only three days of practice prior to their first game, but they performed well.

The middle school tennis season officially has begun, and Lampasas got off to a good start at the first tournament in Copperas Cove.In seventh-grade girls’ singles, Madelynn White finished in first place, Sophia Thomas placed fourth, and Hallie Watson lost in the consolation finals.

Softball team picks up huge win over Burnet

A shutout in the circle from Brooklyn Farmer and three runs in the first inning from the Lady Badger bats was all it took for Lampasas to beat a tough Burnet team 3-0 in their second meeting this season.

Middle school track teams earn district titles

The Lampasas Middle School track teams had a field day at the district meet last week, and they all emerged as district champions after the final race was run.The seventh-grade boys and girls and the eighth-grade boys and girls all dominated the competition.

Lampasas beats Jarrell after two runs in the seventh inning

A no-hitter by Jonas Andersen was the highlight of a crucial win for the Badgers when they played the Jarrell Cougars on the road Tuesday afternoon.A 3-1 victory started the final six games the right way for Lampasas.

Badgers claim two area championships at track meet

One Lampasas relay team and one individual Badger competitor ended the area track meet Wednesday as champions. They along with other teammates have qualified to compete next week at the regional meet in Bullard.Asa White won the long jump event with a leap of 21.5 feet.

New golf course manager in charge at Hancock Park

A new manager is in charge of Hancock Park Golf Course for the first time in 30 years, as Kris Morin has taken over the reins after the retirement of Van Berry.Morin started his new position in February.
