Lampasas wins in run-rule fashion over Marble Falls

A couple of wins over Marble Falls last week have put the Badgers squarely in playoff contention down the stretch in district play.The Badgers closed out a 2-0-week last Thursday when they beat the Mustangs 11-0 in six innings after Timber Gholson hit a run-rule, walk-off grand slam to win the game.

Badgers host fourth annual Johnny ‘Lam’ Jones Relays

Last Thursday, the Lampasas track teams all competed at the fourth installment of the Johnny “Lam” Jones relays at Lampasas High School.Brayden Phillps got things started for the Badgers when he placed third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:45.90.

Girls’ golf team dominates district tournament

The Lady Badger golf team was absolutely dominant at the district golf tournament in Kingsland for the second consecutive year.The girls finished as both the district champions and the district runners-up with their two teams earlier this week.

Softball team struggles to score in loss to Gateway

At home on Tuesday, the Lady Badgers ran into a tough pitching matchup with the Gateway Gators, and they were shut out until the seventh inning in a 4-2 defeat.Lampasas fell into a hole early when the team gave up three runs in the top of the first inning.

Baseball team picks up shutout win over Marble Falls

The Badger baseball team got back to its winning ways with a 6-0 shutout victory over Marble Falls on Tuesday.Jonas Andersen was on the mound for the Badgers. He pitched 5 1/3 innings of shutout ball with 12 strikeouts in his best district start of the season so far.

Badgers lose heartbreaker in bi-district round of playoffs

In a match where the Badgers weren’t expected to compete well, they went into the final five minutes of their bi-district playoff tied 1-1 with Life Waxahachie.

Tennis team plays in one more tournament before district

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Lampasas tennis team headed to Marble Falls for the district competition. Before that, they played in one more smaller tournament here at home.They competed against Brownwood, Gatesville and Copperas Cove, and each player for Lampasas had three matches.

Lampasas powerlifter finishes top 10 at state

Charles Mack lifted at the state powerlifting meet in Abilene last weekend, and he finished 10th in the 114-pound weight class.“He had a good meet, finishing with a 925-pound total which is his best total of the year,” coach David Brister said.

Softball comes up short against district rival Lady Bulldogs

Two bad innings were more than the Lady Badgers could overcome against a talented Burnet team, as they lost 7-3 last Friday.The Lady Bulldogs opened the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
