Nita V. White was born on Jan. 31, 1928, to Syble and Raymond Smith at her grandparents’ house in Briggs, and she died peacefully on July 23. Memorial services are scheduled for July 30 at 10 a.m. at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Graveside services will follow at Davis Cemetery in Briggs.

Mrs. Lancaster

Mona Faye Rucktashel Lancaster, 76, of Lampasas died at her home on July 24, 2022. Services will be held July 29 at First Street Church of Christ at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow at School Creek Cemetery. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Leonardo

Joy Velasco Leonardo, 78, died at her home in Lampasas on July 20, 2022. She was born on March 31,1944 in Angeles City, Philippines. Joy grew up in Santiago Isabella, Philippines where she graduated from La Salette High School.

Mrs. Millican

Betty Northington Millican died on July 21, 2022 in Lampasas. A graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery on July 25, with visitation afterward. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements. She was born Aug.

Mr. Sims

James Michael Sims Jr., known as MJ or Brotherman by family and friends, died July 19, 2022 in Copperas Cove. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on July 27 from noon to 2 p.m. The family would people to wear purple for MJ. His body will be cremated.

Mrs. Laifer

Renee Brown Laifer, 86, died July 17, 2022 in New Braunfels, where she had moved from Syracuse, New York to be near family. Services will be held July 22 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 10:45 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alexander

Theodore J. Alexander, 73, died in San Antonio on July 14, 2022 of natural causes. He was born on Oct. 23, 1948, in Abilene, one of five sons of Marion Robert Alexander Sr. and Margaret Shipman. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, where he was a student-athlete.

Mrs. Patterson-Ray

Darlene Patterson-Ray died on July 19, 2022, at AdventHealth Rollins Brook in Lampasas. Darlene was born July 23, 1937 in Burnet to Jim and Mabel (Hines) McGuire. She was married to Leslie Patterson until his death. She remarried in 1993 to Howard Ray. Darlene held many vocations in her life.

Mrs. Gibson

Clovis Lynn White Gibson, 94, died July 11, 2022 in San Saba. Clovis was born Feb. 10, 1928 at Bend to John Lynn White and Vada Millican White. She grew up in Bend. Then at an early age the family moved to Georgetown and Elgin. She attended most of her school years in Georgetown.
