No injuries reported after residential fire on Race Street

First responders are unsure what led to a residential fire that resulted in no injuries Wednesday afternoon at 208 S. Race St.Emergency agencies received a call reporting a fire at 1:04 p.m., with Lampasas Police Department units being the first to arrive on the scene two minutes later.

Commissioners Court approves county budget, new tax rate

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday approved a 3.5% increase in general fund expenditures for the 2025-26 fiscal year and a one-cent decrease in the county’s tax rate.

Debris remains along Sulphur Creek

Brush debris from heavy July flooding remains on the side of Sulphur Creek near the Fourth Street bridge. Clean-up efforts from Forward Lampasas, a local non-profit, took place earlier this year with plans to create a walking trail along the creek.

Ten Commandments posting becomes law

Lampasas ISD is awaiting community donations so campuses can display the Ten Commandments in each classroom within the district.

Petition against KWSC rate increases gains momentum
